ICE OUT ATTENDANCE GREATER THAN EVER We would like to thank all of you for your generous support that made our 2024 Ice Out Party which was held on Sunday March 30 a huge success. There were 740 paid attendees including, men women and children and a whole slew of toddlers. Thanks to the hard work of over 70 volunteers we attempted to provide a fun event for our guests. Our kitchen crew headed by Jack Bock served over 1400 hot dogs, pans of salads, beans, sauerkraut and Greek sauce to what seemed to be and endless line of hungry participants. Ed Kissell with the help of Rick Makowski, Sharon Lipinski, Paul Holtz, Casey Grabinski and Rich Cass drew out raffle tickets, auctioned of and handed out hundreds of door prizes that were donated by over 200 individuals and businesses. There was a wide variety of activities including a 50-50 raffle, a picnic package raffle, pull tab tickets, a ham raffle, a ladies only raffle, a Chinese basket auction and tip boards. There were free fishing poles for kids. Kids activities and games including a perch coloring contest were provided for kids by Team Lubak. Our great team of officers and board of directors spent countless hours getting the logistics in place as well as the great hospitality by the staff of the Erie Shrine Club made the event a huge success. Also we would like to thank all those who attended for their support.
There were games for adults and activities and games for kids too. Every
child in attendance was given either a SONS kid’s fishing vest or a small
tackle box; All of the ladies were invited to participate in a game where
each and every lady won a prize which varied in value from $10- to $50. SONS
VP Ed Kissell drew hundreds of tickets from a raffle drum for hundreds of
regular door prizes including over fifty fishing rods and reels along with
tackle boxes, lures, minnow buckets, gift certificates and lots more.
