Every Summer the Our West Bayfront Task Force sets up a series of events for residents living in the West bayfront portion of Erie. This year the SONS partnered in two the events. The first was held on July 17,2024  at Bayview Park It included games and projects for children to take part in. The SONS volunteers set up a casting area in order to teach kids how to use a fishing pole. We also gave away fish coloring books, Swedish Fish, cookies and toys.

On August 24th another phase of the OWB program was held at Liberty Pier. This time using equipment and bait we provided the kids were given a hands on fishing experience. They also were able to witness a lot of boating activity on a beautiful day. The program was split into two groups with a lunch break in between sessions served by OWB volunteers. There were about w20 kids participating and they all caught fish.
