To learn more about our Adopt-a-Stream Project (Click Here ) In 1991 the S.O.N.S. entered into a partnership with the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission’s Adopt a Stream program, the students of Strong Vincent High School and the City of Erie. The goal of this partnership was to work towards the improvement of the Cascade Creek and the surrounding watershed. The Lake Erie Arboretum at Frontier Park (LEAF) organization was founded to improve and maintain the park, joining the partnership. For twenty six years SONS volunteers have overrun Frontier Park, picking up litter and removing it from Cascade Creek which flows through the park. On Saturday April 8th the process was repeated again. Forty Three SONS volunteers and about 20 nonmembers including members of a Gannon University fraternity and fishing club joined in the work. About 30 bags of trash were collected. The Gannon Frat kids worked cleaning and mulching flower beds around the L.E.A.F. building The stream was stocked with trout on April 14th. Scroll Down To See
